What is Hyehwa Dodam?
A Korean restaurant on Daehangno, near Hyehwa Station Exit 4 in Seoul. We serve kimchi-jjim, pork galbi-jjim, spicy octopus, daepa-jeon, and makgeolli.
Can I eat kimchi-jjim in Hyehwa or Daehangno?
Yes. Kimchi-jjim is the house dish. Domestic pork shoulder steamed with kimchi. Small (2) ₩24,000, medium (3) ₩36,000.
Is there weekday lunch kimchi-jjim?
Yes. Weekdays 11:00–14:00, ₩11,000 for one. Unlimited self rice and banchan, plus a makgeolli service. From 11:30 to 13:00, two or more people.
Do you serve makgeolli?
Yes. Unjeong, Yesan apple, kettle Pocheon, Golmok Yesan, Seonho, Jipyeong, chestnut. Soju and bottled beer too. Weekday lunch has a makgeolli service.
Is there an English menu?
Yes. English, Japanese, and Chinese are on the printed menu.
Can visitors who do not speak Korean come?
Yes. Guests walking Daehangno and Hyehwa Station come in. The menu is in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Is it close to Hyehwa Station?
Line 4, Exit 4, about a two-minute walk. Address: 16-6 Daemyeong 1-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Can I come without a reservation?
Yes. Call for 4+ people, weekend evenings, and groups.
What should I order first?
Weekday lunch: the lunch kimchi-jjim. Evening: small kimchi-jjim and daepa-jeon, or a set sized to your table.
Can groups sit here?
There is a VIP table for 5–7 people. Call ahead.
Is there parking?
No lot attached to the restaurant. Use paid parking around Daehangno and Hyehwa.
What are the hours?
Daily 11:00–22:00, break 15:00–17:00. Lunch last order 14:00, dinner last order 21:00. No regular closing day.
How do I pay?
Credit cards and cash.
Can I take leftovers?
Yes. The printed menu says leftover food will be packed.
